Colin Furze - Electric Drift Bike

A Lynch Motor was used for an invention project by Colin Furze, a well-known inventor and stuntman. Colin Furze was set the task of making his own vehicle to ride around the Formula E track in Rome.

Initially he tried using an electric motor of his own demonstrated in the video above, however this motor did not have the power to move the drift bike.  After he searched the internet, he found the Lynch – LEM 200 Motor which is powerful enough to power a Mini Car. Since he was doing a lap around the formula E track, he needed something that was going to be fast and powerful.

The motor was perfect for the project and it was only running at half of the capacity around the track, it could have had twice the number of volts and amps.  The drift bike got up to 50mph and he completed the course in 4mins and 30 seconds.  A formula car can complete the track 1min 30 seconds which is pretty good considering he has no breaks.
