Hayden our electromechanical engineer went to visit @tristarboats to carry out a commission for the Eahlswith narrowboat. Tristar Boats had installed our Swordfish 16KW, twin drive system in the Eahlswith narrowboat using our electric DC motor to power the boat efficiently. Our motor frame, controller assembly, display, leads, Lynch throttle and installation manual were all included in the system and utilised by the Tristar Boats team.
During the commissioning, Hayden checked the following processes before powering up to ensure the system was installed to specification. This included the motor/shaft alignment, secure mounting of the controllers, associated assemblies and all cables run in a presentable, tidy manor.
Once this was confirmed, our engineer checked with the system powered that the drive reached full voltage, and the current was within the programmed setting. The Eahlswith was then taken for a run to confirm readings taken on the initial settings were inline.
