The Red Snapper hybrid electric, drop in, inboard marine drive system is the perfect cost-effective solution to convert your boat to electric hybrid, without replacing your engine!

This revolutionary hybrid drop in solution is designed to fit around and work with your current engine and is the first of it's kind (as far as we are aware).  The Red Snapper only requires approximately 100mm space on the prop shaft, to be fitted.  Then you can be powered by electric when you wish, at the flick of a switch

This pioneering electric hybrid solution can be used in almost any boat that is using inland, national and international waterways at typical cruising speeds, including: narrowboats, sailing craft, yachts and pleasure craft. 

The Red Snapper is designed to generate the power needed to match the standard cruising speed of marine vehicles powered by a combustion engine. Higher engine speeds are then expected to be available to help recharge the battery source when operating the electric motor in generator mode (so no additional bulky generators required). Electric-only drive mode will provide a maximum speed to allow the vessel to reach standard cruising speed.

  • Two mode system enables hybrid, electric or combustion engine powered options
  • 'Soft start' clutch control built in as standard to minimise wear
  • Battery monitoring automatically disengages the clutch when charging is outside the predefined limits or batteries are near full capacity

  • Standard throttle with one direction setting or neutral position with forward and reverse. Can be top or side mounted
